445997 2006-04-12 23:55:00 ok i've got the self install kit with that modem. It has this USB plug at the back of the modem. When i try and plug the USB cord into the back of the modem, it seems very hard to push in. Do I have to take this white thing of the back of the USB port on the modem then plug the cord in or what? lance4k (4644)
445998 2006-04-13 00:02:00 any chance you can post a picture of what whait thing you are talking about? I don't think they have anything protecting the USB port.

I've never got that modem working via USB - I always connect them via ethernet when people ask me to help them install it.

445999 2006-04-13 00:02:00 Is this the Telecom supplied modem? (Dlink DSL-302Gv2)

How do you mean white thing?

Are you able to connect it using ethernet?

446002 2006-04-13 00:42:00 The cable only fits in one way round. Look carefully at the end and the socket - you should see how it fits in. Like your camera or printer.... pctek (84)

Yep, they're changing the modems they supply, the new ones will have support for ADSL2+.
