| 445950 | 2006-04-12 23:09:00 | Hi all. I've just recently put Mac OS 10.3 server onto a Powermac G4 I had at work. We are planning to have an Open Directory (OS X equivalent of Active Directory) running alongside our existing Windows 2003 server network. The reason for this is that AD doesn't provide anything to our Mac OS X clients other than user authentication, hence we are using local accounts. However, Open Directory can provide customized settings for users, roaming profiles and basically everything that AD can for Windows on a Mac. What I'm trying to figure out now is how I can possibly copy around 400 users from our Active Directory onto our Open Directory server. I have been reading many articles on integrating AD and OD but they only tend to work well with OS X server 10.4, which we are only going to purchase if this project is successful. Can anyone suggest a way with which I could copy two (perhaps three) AD groups automatically onto our OD server? |
