| 446772 | 2006-04-16 20:46:00 | It may be due to the fact that some files although they state a physical size they actually take up a different size on the disk Check out the properties of some of your files and you will notice a "Size:" and a "Size on Disk:". If there is a high value of bytes per sector on your formatted CD (say 1024) then 1 extra byte may actually take the space of 1024. By the way what was you answer to the question ? |

| 446773 | 2006-04-16 20:54:00 | I found an MP3 file and copyed it 171 times for a total of 172 an I came up with 588Mb (and that was a 3,501Kb file) but 175 of them totaled 598MB (more copying). I am guessing you went 600/3.5? still 171 is not far off, what makes you ask? |

| 446774 | 2006-04-16 21:27:00 | I've put 104 MP3's on a CD. Thats about 384mb So, you should be able to get around 180-190 MP3's at least on a CD. The MP3's range from 2.7 to 5.7mb. Good if u have a stereo / cd that plays MP3 CD's. |

| 446776 | 2006-04-16 22:28:00 | The entire 600MB of the CD won't be available to put the MP3s on as a chunk of that will be used for the TOC . Can't remember exactly how much that is, something like 20 to50MB I think, so if you deduct that from 600MB you might get roughly 157 to 165 MP3s on the CD . What TeejayR says about the actual disk space being taken by them would have an effect as well . It would be easy enough to work it out if you knew how much the TOC took up plus the amount of disk space the MP3s took . |
