446620 2006-04-16 00:57:00 Hey everyone, I just got this 3700+ about two months ago. I installed it with the factory sealed fan and what not and no problems for two months. THEN last night i restarted after some windows updates and my computer starts giving me the cpu fan speed to low or fan is off error every restart. So thinking this is an easy fix I went today and got a new cpu heatsink and fan and some thermal lube and installed it, well...same krap. The error keeps coming so i went into setup.

It says the error is set to display if the fans rpm is below 1200 rpms yet in my bios setup it says the fan is at 3200RPMS! So i disabled the message and went into windows. Then....the monitoring software that came with my mobo(A8N-SLI) is called "AI booster", IT, says my fan is rotating at 1400 rpms, and my cpu is at an average of about 41c. I know thats not bad but what the hell is going ON?! any input would be appreciated.

I wouldn't even enable it in the BIOS, why have the fan slow down?
And ignore the monitoring software, if your fan fails, the MB will shut down.

446623 2006-04-16 01:22:00 have you got one of those variable speed mobo's ? some mobo's can vary the speed of the fan according to cpu temp. with air temps getting cooler its proberly slowed it down to much. either turn the warnings off or speed control off. tweak'e (69)
446624 2006-04-16 09:58:00 Just ignore it - it is just a Faut with 'Very Well Written Software" (Sarcasim Intended.) If you take the side panel off your computer and while in the software "Stop" the fan for 5 seconds. If the computer beeps and/Or the software says it is at 0rpm it means that is working. However just disable the beep warning. I am listining to Music and writing this message and my CPU is running at 40oC - My CPU can reach up to 70oC on hot days / When im converting DivX to DVD. My friends High End CPU Reaches 85oC At times... "Toasty!" so just as long as the fans spinning - and you can feel air going through it - And it is not going over 85oC then it shald be all cool - Just ignore the crappy software and disable the BIOS Warnings. 446625 2006-04-16 11:55:00 If that's an athlon 64 3700+ I wouldn't let it get past 65 deg...

65 or 70 degrees is the burn-out point for the athlon 64's... A P4 is probably good to 85 but definently not and Athlon 64

(of course bios/monitoring software can sometimes be inaccurate)
