| 446828 | 2006-04-17 01:17:00 | Hi guys, When I load games up, sometimes I find they are choppy (my home pc is just a standard hp/xp) so normally I just shelve the game. Eventually I forget all about them and kinda dont play them ever. That is until i heard you can fix this by increasing the refresh rate. Is this genarally ok/safe to do? And if so how? |

| 446829 | 2006-04-17 01:25:00 | no sorry. the refresh rate is simply how fast the monitor displays pics. if its not choppy in everything then its not a monitor prob. most comanly its poor video cards which is pretty much the norm for standard HP's. if you post details of your pc (and the games you want to play) someone may be able to tell you if it can be upgraded or not. |

All so it used to happen to Red Faction 2, I have Dirx 9 installed just in case. But you are probably correct in my pc probably having a cruddy card | rob_on_guitar (4196) | ||
