446697 2006-04-16 06:24:00 with Xtra's 3.5mbps (2.98mbps in reality) my net cap of 5gb goes too fast. Ihug offers 15GB on their lite plan for the same price so I have decided to make the switch.

I want to change my Toll-calling also to save $10 and gain another 5GB from the deal. But before I do... I have some minor issues/questions. I think it's smarter to talk this over before the small step for man. huge step for me. I'm sorry there's so many of these on this site.....Endure the n00b questions!

1) Will I get a telecom phone bill and ihug phone bill now? I want to chose the direct calling and toll calling option with ihug. so will i still have a telecome bill and a new ihug bill? (2 bills?)
2) I'm already on Xtra Broadband...so am i still illegible for the 50% off for 5 months deal? I think I am....It says for new broadband ppl but doesn't say NOT for existing broadband people. and the option 2 apply 4 it is in the existing broadband changover form.....dissmiss then
3) I'm confused
4) I have to pay $99 to connect but that wont matter if i have 50% off for 5 months anyways..rite? (parents get grumpy)

446698 2006-04-16 06:44:00 sounds like i do have to pay two bills.....fubar...... jamesyboi (6579)
446699 2006-04-16 07:45:00 To switch ISPs, in your case from XTRA to Ihug, you will have to pay $41 or $42, I think, but definitely not $99.

You will get two bills because you would still have to have line rental with Telecom.

You are eligible for the '50% off for six months' deal but you aren't eligible for the 'free modem and free connection' deal.

446700 2006-04-16 08:08:00 no. it means there is a $99 connection fee to ihug broadband. which i am willing to pay because it wont matter if i do the 50% off deal for 6 months...however my parents are against this CHANGE because they dont want two bills.... will this new billing system cost more and is it anything to be concerned about? what does direct calling with ihug do anyway? jamesyboi (6579)
446701 2006-04-16 08:19:00 Hmmmmmm...... seems like I can't get Ihug if there's two billz... jamesyboi (6579)
446702 2006-04-16 08:29:00 Direct dialling means that all toll calls are run through Ihug (unless you dial a prefix to use Telecom instead).

I get two bills but both are sent electronically. Your Telecom bill will be pretty much the same every month. I really isn't that hard

Xtra - the ISP of the lazy :D

446703 2006-04-16 08:36:00 i know..i just need some good points to persuade my parents into paying two bills and paying $99 connection fee... jamesyboi (6579)
446704 2006-04-16 23:32:00 My mother wants to know.. Will it cost more to have a telecom bill and ihug bill? and will we end up with no telephone. jamesyboi (6579)
446705 2006-04-17 02:54:00 jamesyboi > if switching isp's is going to be a pain with the parents, why don’t you just convince them to upgrade to the $59.95 plan ( with a 10GB cap) with Xtra.

That should save some hassle.

My 5 cents :)
