446642 2006-04-16 00:50:00 I'm assuming you lost your windows login password.

If you have time go and download Ophcrack.
http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/

It is a downloadable ISO based on linux.

It will recover most passwords without physically rewriting anything to the hdd.

If you want I can send you my copy.

PM me if you want it.

446643 2006-04-16 04:47:00 The strings for admin and mrbeef are identical (except for the numerical prefix) - so I suspect they are the same - have you forgotten all of the passwords or just the admin? It appears guest doesn't have a password not that that would be much use....

446644 2006-04-16 05:23:00 Er, unless the password is a weak one (i.e. in a dictionary) it could takes some days.

I'd just reset it (i.e. blank it) unless you suspect the encryption (of files) built into Windows XP is being used (XP Pro only).

like so (www.petri.co.il)

446645 2006-04-16 22:47:00 well i was using my Bob Jones account, and cos i was using my comp as a music box on sat night, got drunk and forgot the password i changed it to..

Along with the administrators password etc as i hadn't used those passwords in so long..

I'm trying the Offline NT password thingybob, but it keeps going to loading inittrd.gz and then boot fails.

446646 2006-04-16 23:19:00 No error mesasge?

Hmm, I've added you to my Yahoo profile so maybe you can get in contact with me through there, I'll send you my copy of Ophcrack and see what happens there.

446647 2006-04-17 00:28:00 When I try the offline password recovery..it comes back with

Loading initrd.gz................boot failed

or

Loading vmlinuz.gz (or something like that)...................... boot failed
