447743 2006-04-19 21:38:00 After pressing CTRL ALT DEL the login screen appears so that the workstation can be locked or you can use the task manager. A background screen appears, where is that screen located? I want to either change it or delete it.
Thanks......mike

447744 2006-04-20 01:03:00 Can you post a screen shot of the area you mean? ( You can upload it to here: www.imagef1.net.nz )

PS: Welcome to PressF1 :)

447745 2006-04-20 01:53:00 I've never seen that, but I use the "None" wallpaper ;). I assume it will be just the same background as the normal screen. ;)

Try right clicking on the background, and selecting Properties. Then one of the pages "Appearance"?) will let you find the wallpaper.

447746 2006-04-20 02:04:00 Can't grab a screen dump. When you press ctrl alt del at the desktop you then get a window headed Windows security. The OS is Win2000 Professional.

In the window are 6 buttons....Lock computer, log off, shut down....3 below are change password, task manager, cancel.

The background is a photo of my house.....nowhere in screen properties is this photo registering.....it isn't the background or screensaver?

447747 2006-04-20 02:11:00 I use W2kPro too. ;) Is it the same as the background on your desktop?

How did it get there?

447748 2006-04-20 02:18:00 hi there, i think i know what you're talking about. i found that if you set a *.bmp file as your background then it will appear on your logon screen, and if you then set a jpeg file as your background it will be your desktop background but your logon screen will be the bmp. so you could just make a bmp file and set it as ur background i suppose?
you could also try this:
go to start > run type regedit
goto
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop
and enter the path you want (i think it has to be bmp im not sure)"Wallpaper"="C:\Windows\System32\background.bmp"
