| 446923 | 2006-04-17 10:11:00 | Hi, One of the keys came off the keyboard of my Packard Bell notebook. I have problems re attaching it. The keyboard side has a little upward lloking U-shaped plastic part that probably should hook under the key, the key has a kind of eye that can be hooked under a metal hook that sits on the keyboard. The U-shaoped thing as well as the eye on the key can be flipped about 90 degrees off the keyboard or key. Is this a known system? How do i re attach? Thanks for any help, could not find a site where this kind of key is described. Cheers johan |

The very bottom of the U will hook over the top of the clip on the laptop (by presenting the key top first to the laptop with the underside facing you) and it is a matter of keeping the U part attached to the laptop and key while you press the front part of the key down. Provided the U part is positioned correctly it should take first time. Hopefully I have explained that well enough.....pretty hard without pictures. I've knocked plenty of keys of keyboards and it's not too hard to get that particular type back on. A |
