You'ld need to do a more specific search with the actual model --- IBM have made a lot of "Thinkpad" models. There are also different batteries (more cells gives more capacity) for some models. If you can buy from overseas you would get "cheaper looking" prices. Of course, exchange rates and freight are the killer there. Fortuinately, LiIon batteries are pretty light compared to NiXX ones. | Graham L (2) | ||

Thanks for the replys Graham. I think unless a real good buy turns up I'll give it a miss. Just an off topic aside. I'm doing this on on Damn Small Linux running in RAM Installed on a SD camera card in a card reader and booted off a floppy. It goes so fast I've had to adjust my mouse technique to avoid double clicks. Puppy LInux is also as fast running in RAM and a lot easier to use but I haven't been able to install it on the card reader so that it will boot. Lots of fun. Thanks again. Ian |

I bring a laptop to travel to store photos becos I use a SLR when 512MB holds 80 pictures, I shoot RAW format. If I had a portable HDD I won't take this laptop. This laptop of mine is 1 inch thick and weighs 1KG. If you want one then take a PDA. I do not think I will ever buy another laptop other than if work requires it. |
