448164 2006-04-21 03:21:00 I recently received a computer that was having troubles with Outlook Express address book.
Windows XP Home
I tried all the standard procedures: uninstalled, reinstalled OE; SFC.. finally I did a windows repair from the installation cd. This corrected the problem, the address book reapeared.
I then did a windows security update & this boloxed the address book, no more address book. I only did the essential updates & a modem driver update.

Anyone else have the problem?
Is there a fix for this?

448165 2006-04-21 03:26:00 Trouble with the address book, in as what??

It didnt open? Appear in OE? Save addresses?

If the address book doesnt appear now, right mouse on the icons and select customise. See if its under available toolbar buttons. if it is, highlight, click on add ->

I can open Outlook Express OK
When I click on the Addresses icon I get an error message:
"The address book failed to load. Outlook express is incorrectly configured, please reinstall."
The same error occurs when I try to add a contact.

448169 2006-04-21 03:50:00 Speedy, tried it but, it didn't apply. All .wab's were unticked.
When I try to create a new message or open a message, I get:
"There was an error opening this message. Any error occured."
