2006-04-21 01:26:00 | So I'm clever . I buy a USB cable off a Trademe trader for my lovely new cellphone . About a quarter of the cost of the proper Nokia cable . Install the drivers, and Nokia Software suite and??? "Connection not recognised" Buggar . :groan: So I've got a busy day and this is really irritating me . And I'm sure the seller will give me a refund but isn't there likely to be a simple answer? Help please . Cheers Winston

Data cables are pain the ass. infrared works ok but datacable works better when you sitting on a chair with the phone beside you - or copying 100 odd mp3's onto the phone. George sadly dont have bluetoooth on the laptop |

2006-04-21 05:39:00 | But my laptop doesn't have bluetooth. Thanks for the thought though. It doesn't have infrared either although I suppose I can buy a plug-in? | Winston001 (3612) | |

2006-04-21 11:12:00 | So what are the benefits of bluetooth as opposed to infrared? | Winston001 (3612) | |
2006-04-21 11:22:00 | Pass, most probably the distance / range it can transmit. Have a read (en.wikipedia.org) and here (en.wikipedia.org)

2006-04-21 11:28:00 | . nokia-asia . com/nokia/0,,34250,00 . html" target="_blank">www . nokia-asia . com Looks like the DKU-2 is correct according to that link There is a known issue with "knockoff cables" (non Nokia original) using a non standard chipset that means they do not always work correctly . Of course from Trademe it must be genuine . . . .
