447907 2006-04-20 08:32:00 I've got a leadtek tv tuner connnected in my computer, and i now have a video player I want to connect to the computer so my bro can play the playstation on it (video has the plugs required for ps2, tuner hasnt....)

I just cant figure out how to find the video, done a channel search and a manual search and i cant find anything...even had the video on AV and still no luck..

Am i missing something?

the video is plugged into the tuner via aerial cable, and aerial is plugged into the video...and playstation is plugged into video via the coloured cables (yellow and white and red)....so i beleive the connections are correct....

I thank you in advance for your help :)

447908 2006-04-20 08:37:00 I just searched, but I had the PS2 directly in the PC.

I DO NOT recommend doing what you want because the lag is so amazingly big that the display was 2 sec out of sync from the PS2

447909 2006-04-20 08:40:00 Err, if you connect something to the Deluxe tuner (this is what you have isnt it)?

You dont tune it in, when whatever is plugged into CVBS / video in .

You use the PVR program and switch it to CVBS to get the signal, if u want to play a video . It may or may not bring up the playstation screen tho .

Why do you want to play the playstation thru a tuner anyway??

Doesnt the TV have RCA inputs?

And if you only want to use the tuner for the playstation (not TV), you dont need an aerial .

If you want to use the PS2, just plug it into CVBS, then directly into the back of the PS2, instead of going thru the video as well . .

447910 2006-04-20 10:29:00 How exactly do u use the CVBS to connect directly to PC...(i'm useless when it comes 2 this lol)

And we want to do this as Bro wants to play some games over the weekend and my tv is the only one with RCA inputs, but its v8supercar weekend as well as some certian other programs I want to watch on sky...and i know we cant connect sky to computer (thats what i was informed) so we decided to do the video method....(only got that method in mind coz we used to have a non RCA tv and have it connected through the video)

447911 2006-04-20 21:56:00 CVBS is the input on the back of the tuner .

You have to run the PVR program and click on the Input source button, which is next to the +- (change channel button) . Until you see CVBS on the PVR program screen .

Then you should see a picture, if the PS2 or video has been connected properly .

447912 2006-04-21 04:40:00 hey
thanks for your reply..
I've just been fiddling with it and all i see is a blue screen on cvbs....so i dont know if I've got it connected properly....can you tell me what exactly I'm meant to do as i think i'm a little lost here, the manual doesnt have any instruction on cvbs...

I really appreciate your help :)

447913 2006-04-21 04:56:00 Well if its showing a blue screen, it means its not receiving a signal .

Click on the input source button for each option (CVBS,S-video) .

Does anything happen??

So, are you plugging the other end into the back of the PS2 ONLY??

Or thru the Video and the PS2? There wont be much info on CVBS, since its only an option for input . It does nothing else .

I havent got a PS2 or Video . So, I dont know what outputs are on them .

If the cable you have (it SHOULD have a 9 pin din plug on the end you plug into the tuner) . And a red/white/yellow plug on the other?

The yellow goes to the video, the red and white plug into the audio left/right RCA sockets . On the PS2 .
