448638 2006-04-23 02:05:00 Hi there

I want to download MS 2000 service Pack 3, to allow me to install Office 2003.

Ive been to the MS Site, found the MS 2000 downooad page, but after spending 10min going around in circles and getting nowhere, Im now getting a headache trying to locate what should be fairly obvious.

So, can someone who knows their way around MS, please give me a link to download the 22Mb SP3

Many thanks..........John.

Many thanks . . . . . . . . . . John .

Safari sent you to the right place . . . but I'd like to comment on thread . . .

MS really knows how to make it near impossible to get any updates using their "intuitive" links and associations . . . I mean it's hell trying to get things to run from their site .

I too have played tag with their stuff . . . . . . going from one link to another to another then finding I am right back at the start .

Could they make it any tougher or stupid-er?

448643 2006-04-23 03:45:00 Thanks to all who replied.

The MS site reminds me of WordPerfect in its 1990 style, Alt, Shift then a Function key to do what you wanted. I often ended up with a headache within and trying to get out of that program.

Then Word for Windiws 2 arrived, I though Id reached the promised land!

Thanks again...... John .

Yup, SP4 is the latest, there was meant to be a SP5, but it never happened.

448645 2006-04-23 03:56:00 But just one thing, the Express download is just 60kb, while a few lines below it mentions it being a 22Mb download .

When I install the Express setup, it calls for the 22Mb file, but that PC is not conneced to the Net as yet, and when it is, its on a 56K dialup .

So, its the 22Mb fle I need the link to please .

Thanks . . . . John :-)

448646 2006-04-23 03:59:00 Just be careful . . . the download size and the final install are two seperate values . . . ever see the webextract at the end?

Most times, the download is larger than the final product because there are a lot of things to move around first, and they can just be instructions to open or modify program(s) and/or files . At the end, they get deleted anyway and don't then count as the installed size .
