448583 2006-04-22 21:12:00 I bought a legitamate copy of "The Wall" DVD in Australia in 2003. It has worked in every DVD player I have until now. I have a brand new HP Pavilion 1350 and now Windows tells me I am not in the right region! It will change the region code for me up to 4 times but then I am basically stuffed!

Is there a legitamate way to fix this?

448588 2006-04-23 04:07:00 The region codes are a pain and the various hacks suggested are a way around them but it begs the question if the DVD was a legit aussie copy it should be the same region as NZ anyway, shouldn't it? bonzo29 (2348)

Indeed it should. Could be an import, or the poster has the wrong region settings in their XP Control Panel (probably USA).

What is the region on your PC set to ?? 4?? I suspect it defaults to R1..
