2006-04-22 09:13:00 | Hi there I hope its ok to post this, as there seems to be an awful lot of post regarding about ADSL ISPs. Well, the question that I would like to ask is, how are people's ADSL connection speed at the moment? Cos from the 'Anyone Else Experiencing Subpar ADSL?' post it seems like ever since Telecom upgraded or started to giving out 3.5Mbps ADSL plans, ADSL useres seems to be having major slow downs with their ADSL speeds, regardless what plan or ISP they have or sign up with. So just want to ask how are the speeds now? Back to normal? If not, how long would this major slow down be? And another question any one here with Xnet? How are they? Cause currently thinking about switching from slingshot's dail up to Xnet's Xtream plan. Almost forgot to ask, currently I'm with Telecom anytime plan, and when I call oversea, I use this 0568 from DigiPlus (I dont have to, but it sure beats the rate that Telecom has), what would this mean? Would my Direct Dial Calling be with DigiPlus or with Telecom? Thanks

2006-04-22 09:44:00 | Mine has never been sub par. It has always been the 2Mb that I had paid for. Sure some sites are really slow but I don't blame ADSL on that. It is simply time of day, site usage, size of pipe, etc. Whenever doing downloads off sites I know have big pipes and such I always get rates of 240KB/sec which is what I would expect of a 2Mb connection.

2006-04-22 10:19:00 | Well, the question that I would like to ask is, how are people's ADSL connection speed at the moment? Here on Xtra they have been fine :), I have been getting my 3.5M.

2006-04-22 10:23:00 | my speed dropped as soon as my plan was changed to the 3.5. Speed test result as of 30 secs ago returns this. Your line speed is approximately 610.3 Kbps or 74.8 K bytes/sec ( Where kb = kilobits and kB = kiloBytes ) has been that way for 2 weeks now , sure does not look like a 3.5 meg plan to me not even 1.4 of that.

2006-04-22 19:37:00 | hey presso that's shocking........i'd be complaining bitterly to telecom about that it's not even close to the 3.5mb speed they supposedly are giving you......yes I know they dont guarantee the speed and they say 'up to' etc but however that is sooooo far below expectation that I'd be quoting consumer guarantees act etc at them and demanding they fix it.......that's just not good enuf.....in saying that I'm with them too and never have had any speed probs at all except once for a short time when I was getting under 1mb instead fo the 2mb I'd payed for .....found out in the end it was kerio firewall not xtra's fault......... | drcspy (146) | |
2006-04-22 19:38:00 | Your line speed is approximately 3438.6 Kbps or 421.4 K bytes/sec my speed now......
