448483 2006-04-22 08:38:00 I've been trying to get data off a Hard Drive that was bootable and was the Primary Drive for a PC running Windows XP. The old All-in-One motherboard died but the drive is OK.
I set the old drive to a slave drive and plugged this hard drive into a PC running Win 2000 Pro. It comes up in MY PC as 'D' Drive and then I've tried to access and burn off the important data which is in My Doc's - which is in the Documents and Settings Folder. Everything fine so far. However, every time I try to access the main Doc's & Settings Folder it comes up 'Access Denied'.
What I need to know is how to access these files or unlock them so I can retrieve the data and burn it to a CD for my friend.
Any assistance appreciated.
