1401568	2015-05-29 12:13:00	Today I purchased 'Active@Disk Image' I installed it on my Dell Vostro W7 Pro 32bit, and made 2 Boot disks. Backed up 4 partitions with no problems. I then tried booting with the disks. A Windows icon came on the screen and got no further. This happened with both disks. Have I wasted my money? What am I doing wrong?	mzee (3324)

1401571	2015-05-30 00:40:00	I did the same thing yesterday. Upgraded Active @ to the latest version. Made a new boot disk and then tested it. It works as it should. Win8.1 64 bit.	CliveM (6007)

I think the Dell has a problem. The Boot Disks work fine in my Lenovo. I think the problem is with the BIOS in the Dell which is very basic and has no settings for 'Legacy' or ACPI settings which are required to be 'ON'. UEFI/BIOS Boot Mode switched to 'Legacy'. There is no mention of any of these settings in the BIOS. I checked Dell for a BIOS update but there isn't one. I made the CD's with the program in Active@ for that purpose. Haven't tried doing a USB drive yet. I had the same problem with Acronis 11 years ago on an Asus PC, Acronis supplied a patch for the Boot Disk which overcame it. I don't really need it for the Dell as Acronis works fine on it, but I paid for it so it bugs me if it doesn't work.	mzee (3324)
1401573	2015-05-30 06:15:00	If they boot on the Lenovo then yep, the CD's are fine. Dell can sometimes be awfully restrictive, as if they dont want the owner to do certain tasks without a lot of Hassle. Have a read of how-to-enable-booting-from-a-dvd-in-bios-on-a-dell-laptop (superuser.com) May or may not be any help. Word of warning though -- Had some makes of laptops that when you change to Legacy by disabling UEFI, it can make the Laptop unbootable normally until they are put back. The reason I asked about how you made the CD's is sometimes on the Odd Occasion when using the Boot CD Creator in Active@ direct burning doesn't always work, so I make a ISO instead on the option, and burn using a third party program something like Power ISO.	wainuitech (129)
1401574	2015-05-30 06:50:00	I made another disk with "At Command line parameters type the following: "acpi=off noapic" (without quotes)" from Acronis, but made no difference. If you want to enter more than one command do you separate them with a comma? I was thinking of adding UEFI=off, or should it be disabled?	mzee (3324)
1401575	2015-05-30 07:03:00	Cant help with the Command line options with Active@, never used them. ( only used WinPE commands for disk imaging - .wim files, deployment options etc) Since the UEFI option is at BIOS level, I doubt you can over Ride it, you will be better off disabling in the BIOS. There must be a setting someplace, Dell may be hiding it or calling it something different. Sometimes if a Computer is being a PITA with Active@ I'll attach its HDD to another PC that will boot OK from CD, Create a image or drop any image back onto the Drive, then plug the drive back into the original Laptop/PC and when it boots all is well. :)	wainuitech (129)

1401577	2015-05-31 19:53:00	Just for your info, I have just upgraded to the latest version 7.04 and I have the same problem. If I boot from a CD created with Active@ it locks up at the Microsoft window showing on screen, but if I create a USB boot it works fine.	Davoid (6918)
