1401531	2015-05-29 01:55:00	My wife's computer has slowed right down . I have done malware checks (Spybot/Malwarebytes) and use CC Cleaner at shut down . Partitioned discs defragged regularly . Thanks to Speedy Gonzales for help speeding up my computer recently . Here is the Hijack This Log . It doesn't seem to include Startup these days . 1401532	2015-05-29 02:00:00	Nothing there that should be slowing the PC down, other than Spybot - I would recommend removing that, or at the very least stop it from running in the background. It's got very heavy the last few years. You don't seem to be running an AV at all? The main thing is the PC needs more RAM - 4GB is a minimum now for Windows 7 to run acceptably.	wratterus (105)
1401533	2015-05-29 05:13:00	And the other thing is bloat. Ccleaners and the like don't get it all. By far. The registry, system folders, profile folders etc all collect crap like dust under the bed. The ultimate cure is a delete and fresh install from scratch. Then, split the HDD, install the O/S on one partition, your programs and personals stuff on other(s). Then one it is set up completely and all happy, image it. next time round, reimage the C: partition, then just update any major changes.	pctek (84)

1401536	2015-05-29 09:02:00	@ Lawrence -- That CCleaner64.exe is fine, it is in the C:\Program Files\ccleaner\ folder. As for the slowness, that can also be caused by a failing hard Drive (bad Sectors) "IF" this were the case all the cleaning in the world wouldn't fix it.	wainuitech (129)

1401539	2015-05-29 20:04:00	Personally, I think the Canon Quick Menu is useless bloat, certainly not needed at startup. I've disabled mine and put a shortcut to the app so I can start it manually on the few occasions I want a bit more control regarding print/scan options. Regular printing works fine without it. It bogged down my startup times considerably when it was loading routinely. Add to that the Flash Plugin is a classic piece of inefficient sh1+. Try closing Firefox (which is hosting Flash) and see if there's a notable improvement. And Adobe ARM is also not necessary at startup. Their PDF suite is a big resource hog. Only takes 30 sec to load it if / when you need PDF functions.	Paul.Cov (425)
