1401481 2015-05-28 04:32:00 Hi All.

I have an Epson printer hard connected to a PC which is hard connected to our Wifi modem/router.
My Question.
If I hard connect the printer to the modem, can I access the printer thro a wifi laptop? Thanks. PJ

1401482 2015-05-28 04:34:00 If your modem supports printer sharing over USB, then yes, but it often requires a bit of a setup (sometimes fairly technical), also often scanning doesn't work.

What is the exact model of your printer and modem?

Have a read of that - page 29 and onwards. Definitely doable. Do you need the scanning functionality? I believe you would lose this having the printer shared from the modem.

How did you do it, what type of cable did you use & connect from where to where? PJ

1401487 2015-05-28 05:14:00 You just plug the USB cable from the printer into the mode, the follow the instructions in the link I provided. :) wratterus (105)

There is no USB outlet on the printer. The printer cable has the usual connector for that end & a USB connector into the PC. I would prefer not to have to turn on the PC to get at the printer. Does that make sense? PJ

1401489 2015-05-28 05:41:00 Yes there is.

You must have it plugged into your computer via USB currently.

This from Epson's site...
