1401334 2015-05-25 08:28:00 Meant to be getting fibre installed on the 9th of next month and Vodafone has sent the modem/router. Theres meant to be someone come out and discuss the installation but haven't seen or heard from anyone yet. So can anyone give me an idea of the answers to these queries - Fibre will be from pole, can they attach it to the roughcast front of the house and then go thru roof to where existing copper wire connection is? I want it in the same spot as its central. Don't want it attached to fascia board where existing connection as this is being replaced as soon as builder free. I see the Huawei modem/router from Vodafone has a phone jack - does this mean I cant use my netgear 3700 as it doesn't have phone jack? Probably pretty basic questions but at the moment haven't seen anyone to ask. :thanks Clod (7853)

Regarding the router - the router has to be able to do vlan tagging on the WAN port. Does yours do that?? The phone port is used for your phones so if you use a router that can't handle that then you need another voip phone attachment device.

The Huawei sounds a lot easier and VF will be able to help when/if you have problems. I advise you to at least start with the Huawei.

1401337 2015-06-10 02:36:00 Well all connected up yesterday, everythings going fine. Chorus staff were great and they attached cable so I had no problem with fascia board replacement. Am on the 30 at mo but will go to the 100 purely cos I can. Great stuff. Clod (7853)
