1401677 2015-06-01 06:03:00 Oh damn, I have just come back from her place. Didn't read your post above before I left! However I was able to get onto the Internet using a long Ethernet cable of mine. I tried all combinations to log into the router, admin, password etc., didn't even think to leave them both blank...... Duh!

Anyway, she's going to ring Slingshot tomorrow I think. So she may have to reset the connection or maybe even try the no username/password thing. But she wouldn't know what to do if she did get into it.
I am going away till Saturday, but have loaned her my cable in the meantime. Her short one that came with the modem originally was all screwed up in a tangle and did not work, probably damaged somewhere.

I have spent many hours on this laptop, and no, I am not being paid, just helping as she is a pensioner and wheelchair bound. Husband not much help in the technical side, maybe he caused all the c#%p on it in the first place. Lol!

Cheers, and thanks, LL

1401678 2015-06-01 06:27:00 The usual " trick" many people do is change the default passwords for the router, both Wireless and log in, then almost right away forget what they are. Only real ( quick) way around it is to reset the Router back to factory defaults.

Re the User Name /Password -- Usually its admin for user, the password for some are left blank.

1401679 2015-06-01 06:58:00 If it's the Energy Imports router that they supply then IIRC the username is admin and the password is the last 6 charters of the MAC address is lower case. It's in the manual that comes with the router. Alex B (15479)

What is on the bottom of the Netcomm router is username admin, password admin.
They do not work.....
Yeah, would be really really nice to have the documentation which came with the modem......! Not going to happen in this case.
Got lost in transit so I believe. Please read previous posts. Have tried all sorts of different combinations, to no avail.

1401681 2015-06-01 08:21:00 Download the manual. So you reset it first before trying the username / password? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1401682 2015-06-01 23:04:00 No, did not reset it yet.
Laptop doesn't seem to even see the Network under "Manage wireless networks". Even though it appears in list of available networks in notification area.
I think the router does need resetting. That might happen in the next couple of days when the lady rings Slingshot. I am away till Saturday, so it won't be my problem if they get it fixed before then.

Cheers, LL
