1389529 2014-12-04 07:49:00 I'm looking for a profile close to the attachment. I only need about 2 metres but haven't been able to find anything stocked anywhere. Suggestions for places to try please...and in Christchurch if possible.

1389530 2014-12-04 08:19:00 it looks like one that is used when building partitions in large office buildings. With all the rebuilding going on in CH CH it might be easy to find some tradesman that can help you. Or try one of the larger buiding supply firms. CliveM (6007)
1389531 2014-12-04 08:34:00 I considered something along those lines but I would be extremely lucky to get any attention when there is so much more money to be made off insurance jobs. I did see a few similar profiles which are somehow used in the plastering trade but haven't been able to talk to a plasterer hueybot3000 (3646)

1389533 2014-12-05 20:57:00 I'd try an aluminum joinery somewhere.
What's it off/for?

1389534 2014-12-06 01:52:00 Ullrich is probably your best bet for extrusions. In Auckland though.

Ullrich (www.ullrich-aluminium.co.nz)

1389535 2014-12-06 02:06:00 Ullrich have sales offices pretty much everywhere, including Petone where they carry or used to carry a wide rang of stock.

McKecknies in New Plymouth also sell Al extrusions. They used to manufacture quite a bit in copper pipe products too once upon a time.

You could encounter a minimum order problem. Another trick is to ask the supplier if they will tell who they have sold the profile to recently, you may be able to beg borrow steal....a small quantity or "offcut"

The problem will definitely be the quantity. We used to use Mck at work but have since burnt that relationship once we started importing our profiles. I'll talk to Ullrich and see if they have a stock profile similar. And I hadn't thought of asking about who bought it last. Cheers!

It's hard to explain what I'm using it for but basically it will act as a bracket that also looks good. The original piece was plastic and sh*t.
