449284 2006-04-25 01:49:00 I'm trying to connect to my work's VPN. My firewall, however, is blocking any communication with it. I can connect, but can't do anything else.

I know the VPN setup is correct, because if I turn off the firewall, I can connect and communicate and do everything else I want to do through the VPN no problem.

The firewall is Norton Internet Security 2005. Last year I was using NIS 2003 and had no problems setting up the VPN connection.

Any suggestions?

Mike.

449288 2006-04-25 02:13:00 Whats the software ?Not sure what software you're meaning, so I'll list everything I can think of :)

OS = Windows XP Pro SP2
Firewall = Norton Internet Security 2005
VPN Connection = L2TP IPSec VPN (is that what you're wanting to know?)

I just double-click on the connection icon (similar to a dial-up connection icon) on my desktop and it connects.

449289 2006-04-25 02:47:00 Personal firewalls and VPN connections are always a pain in the a***, I don't think that Norton Internet Security is IPSec friendly, however I may be wrong. gcarmich (10068)
