448927 2006-04-24 00:08:00 I'm trying to install this ATI Radeon 9200 (PCI) on my comp. I am following the manual and it says to first remove the current dis[lay drivers. The one it currently has, Intel(R) 573EP V9x DF PCI Modem can't be removed. I keep clicking the Change/Remove button and the hour glass shows up for a second and the Add or Remove Programs box just blinks. Also, when I remove the Intel(R) 2 Driver and the Intel(R) PRO Network Adapters and Drivers and restart the computer, the little wizard says that they are new software and the are automatically installed again.. What do I do? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. ren3gade (9811)
448928 2006-04-24 00:33:00 Intel(R) 573EP V9x DF PCI Modem can't be removed .

These are modem drivers, not display / video drivers .

Intel(R) 2 Driver .

Dont know what this is .

And the Intel(R) PRO Network Adapters and Drivers and restart the computer, the little wizard says that they are new software and the are automatically installed again . .

These are for the onboard LAN / network adapter . Not the display drivers .

Since all of the above 3 are onboard (on the mobo), after u delete and reboot, since theyre onboard, thats why the drivers get re-installed .

Go to Control Panel / add/remove programs . See anything with Nvidia, Intel (with display after it)?

Or ATI here?? What was the previous videocard?? Nvidia or ATI based??

Or was it an Intel based videocard? And is the videocard onboard?

448929 2006-04-24 01:03:00 I got it to install. After it restarted, though, the loading screen that says Windows XP, the screen went black and the green light on the moniter turned yellow. I pressed the buttons of the moniter and it said it was in Power Save mode and it also said to press and kew on the keyboard or to move the mouse. I did this but the screen stayed the same. Whatever I type though is typed but the screen it black. I moved the monitor connection back to the computer to see the screen right now. Any idea how to solve this? ren3gade (9811)
448930 2006-04-24 01:09:00 It sounds like something isnt configured in the BIOS (under the power/monitor settings). Or power save mode, is an option (under the monitor settings).

If the monitor has buttons on the front of it, go into its options, and find this power save mode option. Turn it off, or something.
