449250 2006-04-26 09:58:00 Computer will not startup? Interesting because I use the same motherboard P4P800 SE, did you do anything to the cable or connecting the wrong cable causing the whole motherboard blow[ I mean conncecting the wrong wire]? Fitting a computer is very risky. I've blow this P4P800 SE once. Don't install a computer yourself unless you've qualified or know a lot about it.
Do you hear a boom sound? If not I can't really help. If the fan is running or at least memory test when up the go to BIOS to change the settings.
Hope this helps. ;)
A boom sounds means you damaged the Power Supply and motherboard. And CPU maybe.

Power supply, try swapping it with another

449252 2006-04-26 20:43:00 Nope, no boom.
Had been working well up to two weeks ago.
Built it about three years ago and no probs.
Second computer that I've built (My brother has the first one and it works well). I'm not an expert, but have a fair idea what I'm doing until I have hardware problems. Software issues I usually can sort out too.

Have seen similar issue happen with another computer, but the bios would would boot up on that one, (according to the computer shop that my work collegue to his computer, it was the M/B).

With this one, theres nothing...nada just the power supply fans/ CPU fan/ Case fan and LED light on M/B.

449253 2006-04-26 23:36:00 Hmm, I just replaced the motherboard on my cousins computer which was a P4P800.

I still havent figured out what was wrong with it, but apparently a lot of people have been having trouble with this particular base model of mobo.

449254 2006-04-26 23:43:00 I'm using the P4P800 here . Never had a prob with it .

Only time it died was when the power socket, it was plugged into, the earth I think came out and it killed 1/2 the CPU . BUT since then, its been fine as .

449255 2006-04-27 00:15:00 When i first installed it the serial port wouldn't work, but i didn't bother worrying about it. now i wish i had taken it back.

I'm hoping that Eden computers can still get me another one (they have them on their web site as an "order only" item, then i won't have to buy a new set of hardware (cpu,ram,m/b).

Just a side question, the P4P800 m/b i have has pci and agpx8 expansion slots, do the newer boards still have those? i know that they are changing to PCIe, but if i can't get they same board, i will need to keep using my agpx8 graphics card and PCI cards as i can't afford to replace those as well.
