449834 2006-04-26 21:53:00 I recently bought a Pioneer DVR-110D DVD burner. It reads all disks perfectly but whenever I insert a DVD-RW or a DVD-R the icon in my computer changes from saying DVD-RW Drive to CD-ROM Drive and none of the DVD burner programs that came with it will burn anything to the disk. Please Help!!! Mark.Gribble (10310)

449836 2006-04-27 00:06:00 Go into Nero Express (assuming the drive came with Nero) and under "Which recorder would you like to use" select the "Pioneer DVD-RW etc" option. FoxyMX (5)
449837 2006-04-27 00:23:00 I have a similar problem with my drive.

Its with either a DVDRW or a CDRW drive (tried 2) it can read discs fine, but when you go to write a CD it just doesn't write. It says it is, but it just won't. It leaves the disc fine, I can take it out and put in another computer to write and it will.

I have tried switching cables, jumpers, primary vs. secondary cable, software (tried 3 versions of nero) and a different drive even.

What next? Try Alcohol 120% to write maybe?

Please help

Brendon

449840 2006-04-28 11:33:00 The burner came with a Cyberlink software package which I havn't managed to get working but I tried another program called CDBurnerXP Pro. It is freeware but i have managed to successfully burn a disk using it. Thanks for the help though. Mark.Gribble (10310)
449841 2006-04-29 06:51:00 I had a few problems when I first got mine and the techs at PBTech suggested I upgrade the firmware. I did this and haven't had a problem since. It was an easy process and the upgraded firmware files are posted on the Pioneer website. andy (473)
