449745 2006-04-26 10:06:00 hey there, just recently (since i disabled data execution protection) i have been plagued by random crashes. my computer just locks up, screen image is frozen, mouse or keyboard dont work. i have to reboot to get any action. what exactly could be causing it? without having to reinstall windows. after a year or so, i have windows tweaked so that it runs perfectly for me. any programs that could diagnose the problem. oh btw, i will not re enable data execution protection, it was constantly closing windows without any reason and giving no reason, even though i had disabled the offending program. 449748 2006-04-26 10:20:00 im going to open it up and check the ram is seated correctly too, what i am afraid of is that the motherboard has a dry solder joint in it somewhere Tux (606)

449753 2006-04-27 09:22:00 When did this problem start to trouble you (i.e. after installing hardware / software etc.)? Have you done a memory test on your RAM? For more information on memory test, I believe Graham L will have a good idea.

Cheers :)
