449732 2006-04-27 06:33:00 Is 400 Watt power supply good for the Athlon or the Pentium 630

I bought an Acbel 550 Watt only as I may want to go SLI on the video card.(s) For what you want a 400 Watt PSU will probably work. I had a Thermaltake 420 Watt in my other computer and that works fine. This with a socket A AMD 3200+ Athlon.

I'm now using a Socket 939 motherboard with 4 Gig RAM and a AMD 4400+ dual core CPU.

449733 2006-04-28 05:19:00 go for the pentuim man - i have a 630 - and it rules - i have managed to overclock it to 3.75ghz and it is incredibly stable
and i have a mate with the athlon 3000+ and he has had a lot of trouble with it - enough troubly with it he wants to go to intel

anyways my :2cents: anyway

449734 2006-04-28 06:56:00 Athlon without a doubt. Antmannz (6583)
449735 2006-04-28 07:04:00 I bought an Athlon 64 3200 939pin about Christmas time and I aren't sorry :D jcr1 (893)
449736 2006-04-28 07:21:00 Bangs per buck its the AMD Opteron 144 that wins hands down and the stepping that you want if possible is CABNE, should overlock from the stock 1.8GHz to 2.61GHz and possibly beyond without any fancy cooling gcarmich (10068)
449737 2006-04-28 07:38:00 Hmm, dunno much about athlon but intel rocks. The Legendary chip maker. I have Intel 630 when the game used up its power it automatically auto clock with increase power. But need a good cooling condition for it like air conditioning room during the summer time, or computer motherboard will melt if they don't have auto power cut.
Intel 630 sure used a lot of power but not bad at all.

449738 2006-04-28 07:42:00 Remember Intel is the origninal founder of world's first microchip.
The people here have INTEL because of loyal to Intel or like burning money for its performance.
I think I'm loyal to INTEL. Cause in many yrs past my family computers are all using INTEL microprocessor. And I think Intel 630 rocks because of its performance.

449739 2006-04-28 07:50:00 Cool, let the chip wars begin :-). AMD64 - Best all round performer, Intel Netburst - good for video encoding. AMD64 generally used less power and runs cooler than the Intel Netburst .......

Whos winning in sales, well obviously Intel but AMD have overtaken then technology wise. However saying that the Pentium M is beggining to give the Athlon a run for its money, short pipeline, runs cooler and overlocks...

449740 2006-04-28 08:03:00 Any new powerful products from AMD?
I want to try AMD products because I don't like turning the air conditioning on for gaming.
Give a powerful processor and how much cooler than Intel. I mean the temperature. Is it 50 degree celcius for normal running condition for autum?

You're right a good company can't stay forever No.1. Just like Ferrari being beaten by Renault F1. lol.

Good to see a new fanboy to pick up the slack, your posts have all been a joy to read so far.
