| 449756 | 2006-05-03 11:00:00 | ok, i have installed everything into the new case, new powersupply etc, thermaltake soprano with a 430w purepower psu, however, it has locked up once, im wondering if this is just teething problems, but if it happens again, i will keep you up dated. btw, any ideas on other components that could be causing it? i have cleaned the cpu fan and heatsink with compressed air, but i noticed the video card fan has a similar amount of dust, i blew as much as possible out, but i dont have any more compressed air. could this overheating be causing the issue? | Tux (606) | ||

| 449761 | 2006-05-04 07:42:00 | Looks fine to me Altho you can run HJT again, tick these entries and tick fix checked. Close the browser/s first. O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NeroFilterCheck] C:\WINDOWS\system32\NeroCheck.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MsnMsgr] "C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\MsnMsgr.Exe" /background O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MSMSGS] "C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background - I think this is Windows Messenger. Uninstall it (www.dougknox.com) with this. Which is from here (http://www.dougknox.com/) MSN Messenger does the same thing. Alcohol 120% maybe freezing the system. This program can give u a lot of problems. |

| 449762 | 2006-05-05 00:23:00 | i swaped my dads gfx card over, an nvidia gforce 2 mx440, and it locked up as well, but im thinking that would be driver conflicts, as it didnt lock up in the same manor. could it possibly be the harddrive? as i replaced my 120gb with 2x80gb sata drives about a month ago, and this started happening about 2 weeks ago. is there anyway i could test? this is pretty urgent, as i need to know whether i need to pick up a new graphics card from the store in the city or not, and i only have till 5pm today to do it. Thanks, Jared |

| 449764 | 2006-05-05 00:37:00 | If you think its a videocard driver prob, get Drivercleaner Pro (http://www . drivercleaner . net) Install Drivercleaner . Uninstall ALL videocard drivers . DON'T delete the folder the drivers are in . Like some people do . Boot into safe mode, run Drivercleaner . Select the drivers that u uninstalled . (Make sure you select the right options . ie: Nvidia or ATI) . It'll remove all traces of the videocard drivers . Then reboot . Then reinstall the latest version of the videocard drivers (Nvidia or ATI) . For the videocard . Then reboot again . When u replaced the 120gb, did u reinstall / do a clean install of Windows on one of the 80 gb's?? |
