449710 2006-04-26 11:39:00 Hi guys, i am currently working on my ict a-level project titled "Techical Support" and i am following the instructions i have been given.

However, i am struggling to find a website that can help me on some of these certain aspects.
By help i mean instruct someone how to perform these tasks.
I was wandering if any of you know of any decent pc sites that basically help you on these aspects?

Below is a copy of what i have to do, I have completed the tasks in bold.

‘Prevention is better than cure’ and a routine maintenance plan is vital.
You will learn how to describe and carry out procedures, including:

virus-checker updates
storage management such as defragmentation,
backup, restore and archiving
file management such as removal of temporary files and cookies.

You will also need to know how to schedule and keep track of routine
maintenance.
You will learn how to make use of troubleshooting procedures, including:

initial checks such as: connections, power supply, system setup
diagnostic tools such as: Power On Self Test (POST), manufacturersupplied
packages, free diagnostics and commercial alternatives
operating system utilities such as:task manager, system restore etc
alternative boot-up modes such as safe mode
manufacturers’ manuals and websites.[list]
