451046 2006-05-01 08:23:00 Hi everyone, I've just had a machine re-imaged by NFC. Upon start up, after clicking a the user's name icon, I get a dialogue box telling me I have 2 days to activate windows, if I click yes to activate now, it tells me Windows is already activated. If I click no, windows will start, but windows activation says it is already activated.
Anyone know how to get rid of the first dialogue warning. By the way, this is a legal copy of windows

451047 2006-05-01 08:42:00 I had that problem on XP Home a couple of years ago. It was caused by some software I had install which wasn't compatable with XP. Uninstalled the software and rebooted the computer and evrything was alright. I think the software was either an early version of Easy CD Creater or Nero .

451048 2006-05-01 09:45:00 Won't help your problem but for future reference:

To avoid reactivation after a clean install, copy wpa.dbl after you activate the first time. It's located in the WINDOWS\system32 folder. Now if you reinstall Windows XP just copy the file back and you're up and running again.

Cool   , I will need to remember this if I every need to format my desktop or laptop computer.
