Finally got around to installing Fedora Core 5 and everything went fine... untill the configuration where after rebooting it goes into the configuration part and it get to configuring host name or something to that effect, it just sitts there and does nothing... What could be the problem? Thanks :) |

| 450603 | 2006-04-29 10:59:00 | How long are you waiting? If something is not quite right it can take some time but will still eventually boot. Are you talking about hanging during the first time configuration after booting? If so, you can try to boot to the command prompt by pushing a key at the grub boot loader and going "a" for append (from memory). Add to the end of the kernel parameters the digit 3 - this will boot without the GUI. Log in then type startx - this will at least confirm that nothing major is wrong. This method avoids the first time configuration. |
