PS Have you taken a look at Mr Speedy's lately? :waughh:

Blimmin eck Speedy, I shudder to think what you've been saying to the poor sods while I haven't been looking. I'll have to spend more time on here to beat you down lad. :p

451071 2006-05-01 07:52:00 Whitts, run the scans with Spybot and Ad-aware or whatever with System Restore turned off, also try running them in safe mode. zqwerty (97)
451072 2006-05-01 23:56:00 I removed the items form the hijackthis list which were suggested and i did another scan on Spybot and took a screen shot of the results there seem to be 5 problems:

The Screenshot is here (www.imagef1.net.nz)

Is it maybe the websites that are visted as i often let my flatmates use my computer and it says they are through internet explorer on that list?

Cheers.
Kris.

451074 2006-05-02 00:33:00 They are only cookies, not spyware. Nothing to worry about. :)

Let Ad-adware remove them but don't be overly concerned about them returning.

451075 2006-05-02 05:42:00 If you don't want to know about these (advertising) cookies, you can elect to exclude them from your scan results is Spybot, and I guess Adaware, although it's useful sometimes to see where you've been and who's keeping tabs on your net use.

In Spybot, if you hit the grey bar with the blue arrows to the right of the scan results, a dialogue with info on the results will be uncovered. Also use Spybot in Advanced Mode.

451076 2006-05-02 07:16:00 The reason i thought this was spyware was because when i get ride of them my system seems to run faster, with loading times ect. And the same when they come back i experince longer loading times.

Cheers.
Kris.

451077 2006-05-02 08:13:00 Never heard of cookies slowing down a system and loading times before . Try setting IE to clear out the cache and cookies when exiting and see whether that improves things .

Better still, switch to Opera or Firefox .

Do you use Spybot's Immunize feature? You might also like to install SpywareBlaster to keep the nasties out .
