2006-04-29 10:07:00 | Whats sort of wifi - wifi is normally used for local networks (ie in and around your house) and adsl connects you to the internet. So - if you want a wireless network in your house get a adsl router with wireless. | gcarmich (10068) | |
2006-04-30 05:44:00 | wifi is some internet connection in our country that uses wireless capabilities. it doesnt need a telephone line.. | jonkimnicko (10061) | |
2006-04-30 05:53:00 | Oh... well wifi will be better for roaming or if you don't have a phone line, and can offer potentially higher speeds. but adsl has less chance of interference and is more reliable... | The_End_Of_Reality (334) | |
2006-04-30 05:53:00 | Well, if wi-fi is wireless in your country, its not too bad, (only good thing is, you dont need a phoneline to use it), but if you're into online games, forget it. It'll most probably lag more than ADSL. BUT, here in NZ, I wouldnt get either. Wireless would lag, and ADSL, is a ripoff / not worth getting, for what u pay for it.

2006-04-30 05:58:00 | Ok conceded. Wireless Internet Connection is a better term for it, wifi normally being used for local area networks or hotspots however its no longer exclusive. Back to the original question. A wired connection is normally (not always) more reliable as there is less to interfere with it. But when you get right down to it, its about what you can get, how fast you want it, abd how much data you want to download/upload and how much you are willing to pay. Wireless can currently go faster than a wired connection but Id be surprise if you could find a supplier offering wireless at more than 2 Mbit/s ADSL2 max down speed is 12 Mbit/s where as wireless can go to 54 Mbit/s or faster

2006-04-30 06:08:00 | Ah, Wireless goes at 54mbps, within a network, it doesnt mean its this fast on the internet. ADSL2 has a max download speed of 24mb, not 12.

2006-04-30 06:20:00 | I believe that its ADSL2+ that has rates up to 24Mbit/s. | gcarmich (10068) | |
2006-05-01 09:05:00 | ok... thanks guys...ill prefer adsl | jonkimnicko (10061) | |
