451348 2006-05-02 06:05:00 I terminated my Xtra broadband services (still maintaining my email account) about 3 months ago as I was away overseas. Came back yesterday and found that my broadband still active and I am using it now!! Checked and found that there were no charges (broadband) for the last few months- that's in order.

Do I have to inform that I'm back home and continue using their services? But I intend to change to another company, though.

Any brilliant suggestions??

451349 2006-05-02 06:25:00 Did some kind soul anticipate your return? Otherwise I'd front up that the connection is still up, you don't want it biting you later. Murray P (44)
451350 2006-05-02 07:01:00 I'd take the other road and say nothing. You can't be charged for something you never asked for. We had free Woosh for ~10 months, then just disconnected one day. roddy_boy (4115)
451351 2006-05-02 09:32:00 Woosh may be different, but I would bow down to the great God Telecom/Xtra as they will find out and somehow charge you double...after all their CEO is due for a pay rise soon. kwaka (10149)
451352 2006-05-02 10:42:00 What's the best option?

1. Continue enjoy the 'free' service (???)
2. Phone and inform them to re activate (still active, anyway) the service
3. Phone and ask them to stop the service and then change to another ISP

Brain storming exercise .....

451353 2006-05-02 10:54:00 IMO, in order of preference, it would be 1, 3, 2.
If you wish to change, just ring up the ISP you wish to change to, and ask them to do it all for you.

Just out of curiosity, when they accidently left it on, did they leave you on your old speed, or give you full speed ADSL?

451354 2006-05-02 12:21:00 I'm now enjoying full speed!:) bk T (215)
451355 2006-05-02 12:28:00 I recalled that when checking my email overseas, they sent me an email telling me that my speed will be increased in April - (something to that effect) .

Could be just a standard notice ???

451356 2006-05-02 12:29:00 Well, in that case, I would definitely NOT complain!!!! Was talking to a Telecom ex-tech who, when he left, gave himself full speed uncapped ADSL. Very minimal chance of getting caught, as they never check each connection to see who is connected at what speed. Far too many connections to do that. roddy_boy (4115)
451357 2006-05-02 12:32:00 Just got that 2nd post... Are you connected at full speed (~8Mbps) or 3.5Mbps? roddy_boy (4115)
