| 451120 | 2006-05-01 16:06:00 | I have no idea what is wrong with my pc. This is what I can tell (but is possibly very incorrect) I have extremely long boot times from turning PC on till I get into Windows. It will take around 2-4 mins (except it seems normal in safe mode "which I am currently in"). I get the bios details and normal start up, then the XP (home) load screen for ages, then a blank screen also for ages. When windows finally starts it will run fine for around 5 mins until (from what I can tell) the hard drive sounds like it is resetting itself and spinning up every few minutes. It kind of sounds like an old school camera flash charging up. After it does this a few times the screen goes a number of strange colours and finally gives me some kind of "blue screen of death" which doesnt hang around long enough for me to read. My video card has a history of resetting my PC, but has always given me a VPU error warning first. This leads me to believe it is not a video card error, but Im not sure. It doesnt seem to account for the long boot times. I would love any feed back that could help me out. I dont think it will help but here is a hijack this log: Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 12:46:39 AM, on 5/2/2006 Platform: Windows XP SP1 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\Telstra\Cable Login\bpcable.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Program Files\LimeWire\LimeWire.exe C:\Documents and Settings\KUNGA\Desktop\New Folder\uptimer4\Uptimer4.exe C:\Documents and Settings\KUNGA\Desktop\New Folder\hijackthis\HijackThis.exe R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName = O2 - BHO: AcroIEHlprObj Class - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.dll O2 - BHO: Windows Genuine Tool - {c815ace8-3dbf-4ffd-8231-ab1d21e8b7ee} - C:\WINDOWS\shginas.dll O2 - BHO: AddressBar Class - {f65b197f-8260-4d52-909a-f70118e646eb} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\iasada.dll O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [C-Media Mixer] Mixer.exe /startup O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BigPondCable] "C:\Program Files\Telstra\Cable Login\bpcable.exe" /r O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AVG7_CC] C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgcc.exe /STARTUP O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ATICCC] "C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\cli.exe" runtime -Delay O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_03\bin\jusched.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NeroFilterCheck] C:\WINDOWS\system32\NeroCheck.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MSMSGS] "C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background O4 - Startup: Adobe Gamma.lnk = C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Calibration\Adobe Gamma Loader.exe O4 - Global Startup: Adobe Reader Speed Launch.lnk = C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader\reader_sl.exe O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm O16 - DPF: {D7BF3304-138B-4DD5-86EE-491BB6A2286C} - www.azebar.com O18 - Protocol: ms-help - {314111C7-A502-11D2-BBCA-00C04F8EC294} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Help\hxds.dll O23 - Service: AVG7 Alert Manager Server (Avg7Alrt) - GRISOFT, s.r.o. - C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgamsvr.exe O23 - Service: AVG7 Update Service (Avg7UpdSvc) - GRISOFT, s.r.o. - C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgupsvc.exe O23 - Service: AVG E-mail Scanner (AVGEMS) - GRISOFT, s.r.o. - C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgemc.exe O23 - Service: BigPond Broadband Cable Login (bpcService) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Telstra\Cable Login\bpcService.exe |
