451368 2006-05-03 12:03:00 8Mbps was the theoretical maximum just as 56K was for dialup. On a shortish line you might see 6.9-7.6M on the Full Rate business plans. PaulD (232)
451369 2006-05-04 03:05:00 Just want to be an honest citizen, I rang telecom this morning that I don't want to take advantage of the "FREE" broadband service and I was told that there isn't any
ADSL connection on my line! I told her that I am using it and my pc is right infront of me. She then checked with her ADSL colleague and confirmed that there isn't connection on my line but if I want, they can connect it for me within 24 hours!

She also told me that they won't send me a huge bill later since there "ISN'T" any ADSL connection on my line.

451372 2006-05-04 07:13:00 You tease......free superfast broadband....cap? SolMiester (139)
451373 2006-05-04 07:22:00 Very funny. 8Mbps? Is this the northern western world? It is unlikely 8Mbps.

8Mbps is the original Jetstream and is still available if you wat to pay big bucks for the unlimited service. I think it had 2Mbps upload speed to go with it.

The Jetstream Games server had those spees when it as running and you use the proper login for it.

451374 2006-05-04 07:47:00 Upload max was around 800K. You can't exceed the technical limits of the system :-) PaulD (232)
451375 2006-05-04 23:49:00 One of mates is in the same position.
He was with xtra but got annoyed with them so changed to Slingshot.
After a month or two he was annoyed with the slow speed so requested a change back to Xtra.
He somehow never got reconnected with xtra and his account at Slingshot is closed but he still has an ADSL connection and it is now at full speed!
He has rung xtra & slingshot quite a few times to check if they have a account / bill for him and they both say no.
He is still using the connection and has been for almost a year now and has not got a bill from anyone.
He regularly downloads 80-90GBs per month.

Yep, that sounds right, & I won’t be surprised that there might be a few of you out there.
