451358 2006-05-02 13:47:00 Just got that 2nd post... Are you connected at full speed (~8Mbps) or 3.5Mbps?

Getting about 7 Mbps

451359 2006-05-02 13:53:00 ... Very minimal chance of getting caught ...

From the legal point of view, is it an offence if I don't tell them? Am I responsible to let them know that they didn't deactivate my connection?

Sweet sweet high speed internet. You wont have a cap either. And you will have full speed up as well (~1Mbps)

Hmm I actually have no idea. You didn't do anything illegal to get it, but you possibly are obliged to tell them. Like I said, there is virtually no chance of getting caught. And if they do realise, they will most probably just disconnect you. I'll ask someone and get back to you on that one.

451362 2006-05-03 06:53:00 Well, in that case, I would definitely NOT complain!!!! Was talking to a Telecom ex-tech who, when he left, gave himself full speed uncapped ADSL. Very minimal chance of getting caught, as they never check each connection to see who is connected at what speed. Far too many connections to do that.

That guy was/ is very lucky :)

My view is you just may get a bill for lots of money sooner or later.
Just do not ask me to pay if you do.

You may not but I would not want to be in that position.

Don't think you can get it anymore, and it was freaking expensive.

451366 2006-05-03 08:25:00 What's the point of having 8Mbps service when there is a throttle getting out of NZ?
I have Telstra cable and within NZ I get 2Mbps up and down, but international it's only 240 Kbps on average.

451367 2006-05-03 11:54:00 Very funny. 8Mbps? Is this the northern western world? It is unlikely 8Mbps. MTLance (6768)
