451589 2006-05-03 06:52:00 You need to tell us abit more about how you intend to do this - are you going to use the MS Internet Sharing or do you intend to use an ethernet broadband modem/switch?

I think the latter is preferable - you don't need to have a gateway PC turned on to use the internet from the second PC.

451590 2006-05-03 08:28:00 errr.....well my guess is the second one..the ethernet one (to be honest im kinda lost when it comes to networking) _lilmic_ (10271)
451591 2006-05-03 09:13:00 If you want to use ICS see web sites like www.geekgirls.com

But as I said, using an independant broadband modem/switch is better - I use a Netgear one (www.netgear.com). So you need this or similar (wireless if necessary), two cables and two network interface cards (if you don't have them in your PC already). The modem acts as a DHCP server handing out TCP/IP numbers so set your TCP/IP to automatic.

Have a look at the installation guide on kbserver.netgear.com under downloads. From memory it is a good guide.
