| 451411 | 2006-05-02 07:56:00 | Ok, at first i thought the whole broadband thing was awesome. I love surfing the net uploading my own music on to like minded sites etc and keeping in touch with friends world wide. But with all this Telecom jazz going on and poeple offering cheap deals, I am quite confused. I guess I just asking for peoples opinion on the safer or more trusted broadband provider. Cheers in advance |

If I was you, I would wait a month or two(or maybe more) to see what happens with NZ Broadband, as the govt may do something latter on this month if the news I have been reading is any thing to go by, but the govt could also just give telecom a good kick up the backside & give them a warning like the last few times . :groan: |

| 451413 | 2006-05-02 09:18:00 | True, I did have it at one stage when it was first available, I went overseas for awhile but never put it back on once I came back. Does the govt have a say on how or what is to be done with it? |

| 451414 | 2006-05-02 09:21:00 | I love the 'upgrade scheme' when I first set up adsl for a few people they had a 1000 Home plan that had an 8Mb download or "full speed" (in Theory) speed ($80/mth). errr...things have got better havn't they?? At the moment I'm with Xnet good price, great speed. But the way things are I would advise people not to rush into telecom with their $100 churn fee to change. |

I guess I just asking for peoples opinion on the safer or more trusted broadband provider . Any major ISP - for example Xtra, ihug, Slingshot - would be fine . There really isn't that much difference between them as they all get their ADSL services from Telecom . Does the govt have a say on how or what is to be done with it?Some people think that there should be regulation, others don't . It really doesn't make much difference to you now in terms of selecting an ISP . |

| 451418 | 2006-05-02 12:08:00 | Cheers Mac, I'm thinking Xtra or Slingshot at the moment, don't really know too much about the others, never really heard much feedback from actual users. | rob_on_guitar (4196) | ||

Unless you just want one of the minor variations in plan price or caps that the others offer . |
