451241 2006-05-02 01:54:00 What kind of files, are you adding to Power Producer??

Mpegs? Avi??

How are you copying these home movies to the hard drive?

Do you have something like a Digital video camera, or similar?? Which uses firewire?

You didnt format the blank dvd's before you went to burn them did you??

Because you dont format them..

451242 2006-05-02 02:58:00 i use windows movie maker, with my photos and make movies out of them, i save them as avi onto my hard drive.
what do you mean by formatting the dvd's?
carmen (10334)
451243 2006-05-02 03:26:00 Dont worry about the formatting bit . If you dont know, it doesnt matter .

Do you want to make something like a slideshow of your photos, and then burn them to cd/dvd? (this is what it sounds like) .

If it is, you dont save photos as AVI files .

451244 2006-05-02 05:00:00 yeah it is sort of a slide show but more like movie, with titles, credits, different transitions and effects really awesome easy to use program, if you go microsoft website you will find windows movie maker then you will get what i am trying to explain to you. i am very much a novice, that's why this program suits me.... but from windows movie maker help site it said to save as avi, so now i am really confused, why would the dvd burner reject the blank dvd discs is it the burner or the software power producer thats another Big question??? so sorry to bombard you all with this, getting bit frustrated... thank you for your time and help

451245 2006-05-02 05:02:00 once you have finished the movie, the movie gets saved as a file, in my video folder, does that help. carmen (10334)
451246 2006-05-02 05:45:00 If you're only doing photos, ( planning on making a slideshow), I dont think you cant save them, as an AVI file .

An AVI file is a video file, photos arent .

You can only do titles with files that are actually video files, like Mpegs/AVI's .

Because these photos arent actually moving are they??

Moviemaker is part of XP, when u install XP . Altho, u can get the update for it from the MS site .

What you need is something that does Slideshows (like Nero/Nerovision) .

I'm not sure if Power Producer does this .

451247 2006-05-02 06:18:00 Whatever file type it is, it still doesn't solve the problem of the DVD being spat out of the burner. Me being a bit backward n all, thought that was the primary query in this thread. So Carman:

What version of Windows (presumably) are you using (for eg, Windows XP SP2)?

What programme are you using to burn the DVD with?

Are there any error messages, with say something like these words in it: ASPI .dll?

Is the DVD burner recognised by the burning programme?

451248 2006-05-02 11:34:00 hi murray,
i am using windows xp
power producer gold and i have got nero (but to complicated for me, it spits out the blank dvd on that to)
the only message that i get is THIS DISC TYPE IS NOT SUPPORTED on both programs
far as i know it is, but how do i find that out. this seriously driving me up the wall...
i have no trouble making music cds on it, does that help???
carmen (10334)
451249 2006-05-02 14:06:00 Go in to Nero help and have a look around in there for your problem. I suspect you are missing a file or two, I rarely use Nero these days, prefer K3B (on linux) or NTI on Windows but, sometimes these messages are a bit esoteric, in that it could mean the disc or the drive. In the case of the latter, I would suspect software (possibly an outdated or missing wnaspi32.dll).

Have you tried updating Nero?
