451212 2006-05-02 00:23:00 Last I knew, you right click on the CD RW drive and there should be an erase option, if CD writing is enabled... The_End_Of_Reality (334)
451213 2006-05-02 00:25:00 Hi Jack. Regardless of the type of CD or type of programme you have I recommend that you simply throw it away. At about 60 cents each now it not worth the hassle. Snap it in half first if at all personal. Scouse (83)
451214 2006-05-02 00:33:00 why waste perfectly good CDRW's ?? they are a lot dearer than CDR's so you might as well use them a few times to get your $$ worth out of it.

how to erase depends a bit on your setup. have you got packet writing software installed ie nero incd ?

451215 2006-05-02 00:53:00 I don't have any more blank cd's and I don't want to go into town to buy some.

I do not have a "format" option on my cd drive. I have a copy of Nero somewhere but it's not installed. I have no cd software installed.
I just "send to" with anything I put on CD

451216 2006-05-02 00:56:00 Reinstall/install Nero. But, um, of course it's only going to work if the disk is rewritable! Greg (193)
451217 2006-05-02 00:56:00 afaik stock windows dosn't support cdrw, you will need incd. good time to install nero. incd should be on the nero disk. tweak'e (69)
451218 2006-05-02 01:02:00 If Nero is installed, use Nero Express -> click on More down the bottom.

Erase disc.

No need for INCD, or DirectCD. And yup, I take it, you're using CDRW's.

Since you can't format / erase CDR's.

That's something to think about. I assumed ALL cd's were re-writable.
I've got a tin of them. EMTEC CD-R High Performance. Are these re-writable?

Think it might be quicker to go out and buy some more.

451220 2006-05-02 01:07:00 CD-R CDs are RECORDABLE only... you cannot rewrite to them. If it has not been "closed", you can still add more data to the disc. This also means that you can delete the data that is on the disc, but that space is no longer available. Once closed, it is read only. NZLcyclist (329)
