| 452229 | 2006-05-05 02:39:00 | In most of my drop down menus the default command in Open and is at the head of the menu list and is displayed in bold type. Recently I followed Scott Dunn's instructions in the August 2005 issue of PCWorld to add the options of New Folder to the list. Subsequently I find that all the shortcuts I have created now have Open Command Window Here as the default action at the head of the list and displayed in bold. Under Explorer / Tools / Folder Options/ File Types / Advanced / Edit I can find no way to delete any entries from the list, or change the order, or nominate which item in the list is to be the default action. Suggestions or solutions please. |

| 452232 | 2006-05-05 10:06:00 | Thank you for the suggestion of using Restore: this allowed me to try other options. Scott Dunn's instructions in August 2005 said to select New Folder. I found when I selected Folder and completed the rest of his instrctions, that I achieved the correct result. All OK now. As a matter of interest, this work around in not needed if you use PowerDesk as your file manager. At any point in a tree a new folder is created by using the Insert key on the number pad to create a new folder, highlighted ready for new naming. |
