451970 2006-05-04 03:39:00 Pass. We'll have to wait.

No point in talking about it anyway, the news / herald site said nothing is going to happen till next year.

I spose it depends on when things start rolling, isp's will be be able to give their own speeds/prices....

Lets see. At 2Mbps I got 2Mbps. At 3.5Mbps I get 256k. So say it increaes to 7Mbps - I should get.....128kb.

451972 2006-05-04 05:12:00 Dunno, depends where ya live. If in Wyndham where they have more cows than computers, don't expect anything but the smell of lucerne every now and then. Here in Taranaki we seem to get alright speeds. So when/if it goes up, what speed you get will depend on cows to computers ratio

Another thing to consider is the sheep to computer ratio. Apparently the more sheep that get helped through the fence in your area, the lower speeds you should expect. Wyndham, being near Gore, will get speeds way below par

Very amusing. But before someone takes you seriously its got nothing to do with location or Gore for that matter.
Being 400m from the exchange my router says 4288. Actual speed is a result of the lack of hardware in the exchnage and the new contention ratios. However Telecom is now working on it.
