| 451952 | 2006-05-11 01:01:00 | Hmmm, you can use 2 dialup modems for the net. Umm so if 2 modems have to be installed to get onto the net, (and 2 modems are currently installed). You're paying twice for net access? Do you have 2 phone lines? I think there's a way in Windows to "unlink" them from each other. I think I just found the option to turn multilinking off (I think this is whats its called). Go to properties of the dialup / networking tab / settings. Is negotiate multi-link ticked?? (This is in XP). |

| 451953 | 2006-05-11 01:24:00 | Speedy, just the 1 phone line. 2 sets of modems listed as the screen shot of device manager shows. As I say remove/disable 1 or tother it won't connect. Speedy will leave it at that. Just had an email from our son and daughter-in-law, theyare coming down on the 3 June for 10 days, so while I play with my new grandaughter, he can look at this problem. ( he of course is an avionics technician with the RNZAF). Will report back then. Thanks again. Lurking |
