2006-05-06 00:14:00 | Hello All This morning I sign in to msn messenger fine, but when I switched to my 2nd hotmail account I got this message: A newer version is available. You must install the newer version in order to continue. Would you like to do this now? :groan: :badpc: :annoyed: I tried switching back to my first account, but that did not work & even trying to clear out the temp folder, did not help :(, lucky MSN messenger still works on my laptop, but the question is for how much longer? I dont really want to upgrade to the newer version as it is just as bloated as the lasted version of Yahoo messenger :annoyed: The version of MSN messenger I am using is 6.2.0205 Any ideas on how I can get pass this? Or any ideas on other IM clients that work with MSN?? Thanks

2006-05-06 00:38:00 | aMSN (http://amsn.sourceforge.net/) is a MSN clone and is available for Windows. Or, Trillian or Gaim which both do multi-IM clients. | Jen (38) | |
2006-05-06 02:01:00 | (Stunned) You are still on 6.2? Won't you vulnerable as the MSN Messenger that you currently have now is not the latest version (not talking beta here)? Trillian or Gaim should do the job well  Cheers :)

2006-05-06 05:24:00 | Hi! I'd just save the trouble of the two accounts and use Trilian Basic 3.1.0.121. U just use one messenger for everything (literally). Here's a link:www.ceruleanstudios.com Try it for a start, only thing is that it's 30MB's of hard disk space-up to you. :2cents:

2006-05-06 23:51:00 | MSN 7 isn't really that bloated, there are many patching progams that allow you to customize MSN and get rid of the bloat, such a Mess Patch: downloads.mess.be(www.mess.be).zip I would reccomend either upgrading to 7.5 or using aMSN, Gaim etc, I have a supsicion that the older MSN's contain security holes.
