| 452871 | 2006-05-07 05:17:00 | I've had a new computer for three days. It was OK when I got it. Today every second or third time I reboot windows gets stuck on the "Loading windows" page. I've just sat here for 10 minutes watching the dots go backwards and forwards across the screen. When it loads properly it takes 32 seconds to boot. Any suggestions as to what I could have done. More importantly. What can I do to fix it? |

Click Start/Run type sfc /scannow for Windows XP. or just sfc for Win 98. Click OK Have your Windows disc ready, needed if missing or mangled files need fixing or replacing. Worth doing once a month anyway. |

| 452874 | 2006-05-07 06:17:00 | Hi there I have just worked on a computer with the exact same problem. I found that the problem in my case was a conflict between and old version of Office 97 and Windows XP Home Edition with SP2 installed. The only way that I was able to fix MY problem was a re-install of the operating system. ** I am not saying that you should do this, as yours may be unrelated but I am just saying that I have experienced the same situation. Really Really Really annoying. ** |
