453225 2006-05-22 08:52:00 c1 computer replaced the motherboard with a ga-k8ns pro. it now posts, and it gets to the screen where it says windows did not shut down properly..... and after the countdown finishes it attempts to load windows i think, but it just restarts. would that be ram or processor or driver conflict? Tux (606)
453226 2006-05-22 08:57:00 Could be a driver or a program. If u can boot into safe mode and XP is on it.

Go to event viewer, in control panel / admin tools, see what it says.

Also, if u reformatted again did u install SP1 or 2, before u connected to the net?

I would have replaced it with an ASUS myself, instead of a Gigabyte.

A mobo that can take the CPU.

453228 2006-05-22 09:10:00 Well, as I said.

Go to event viewer, in control panel / admin tools, see what it says.

Also, if u reformatted again did u install SP1 or 2, before u connected to the net?

I would also install ccleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com) if it isnt installed. Install it, run it, then go to the tools / startup tab.

See whats booting on startup.

Tell us whats here.

453229 2006-05-22 09:29:00 no not at all, its just people who try and help by asking me to post a hijack this log from a freshly installed pc, its not software, its hardware, figuring out what part is the hardest part though

There is no mention in your post about which operating system you did a fresh install of though. I just built a new computer and bought the WinXP Pro X64 version for it. Found out it would not boot with the TV card I bought for it so back to WinXP Pro. Complete fresh install of both operating systems on new hard drives.

Now dual booting to see whether the TV card is not supported by Pro X84.

I can dual boot both Operating systems but have not yet re-inserted the TV card. I know it works under XP Pro.

453232 2006-05-23 02:25:00 My athlon 64 would randomly bluescreen/restart with 2 sticks of ram in - All I had to do was increase voltage to 2.65 and loosen timings a bit Agent_24 (57)
