| 453320 | 2006-05-08 21:32:00 | I have an older machine. The hard drive wasn't being recognized. Hard drive tested: ok; reformated, reinstalled: ok. as soon as I install the hard drive in the box, it wont recognize. Take it out of the box & hang it upside down, the computer boots? Does this in fact mean the hard drive is going? Any insights would be appreciated. |

| 453323 | 2006-05-09 03:09:00 | You might have a problem with "stiction" (rhymes with "friction"). Basically the drive motor is getting very weak, and the initial spin-up is failing. Usual advice: backup files ASAP, replace drive. |
